Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 18 July 2026

1. About us

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all electrical services provided by Leon Electricians Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales, trading from Unit 104, The Light Box, 111 Power Rd, Chiswick, London W4 5PY, United Kingdom. Our electrical work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 (the IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition) and Part P of the Building Regulations, and is certified through our Competent Person Scheme. By instructing us - by booking online, over the phone, by email or by allowing an engineer to attend the property - you ("the Customer") agree to these Terms.

2. Quotations and estimates

Written quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise. Verbal or telephone estimates given before an engineer inspects the site are indicative only and are confirmed in writing once we have seen the installation. Additional work discovered on site - for example hidden faults, damaged cabling, undersized meter tails or non-compliant existing installations - will be quoted separately and only carried out with your prior approval.

3. Callouts and emergency work

For 24/7 emergency callouts we will confirm the callout charge and hourly rate on the phone before we dispatch an engineer. Out-of-hours rates apply between 18:00 and 08:00 on weekdays, all day at weekends, and on bank holidays. On an emergency call our priority is to isolate the danger and make the installation safe in accordance with BS 7671. A full repair may be quoted separately once the immediate hazard has been removed and, where necessary, parts have been sourced.

4. Consumer cancellation rights (distance and off-premises contracts)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers who book non-emergency work via our website or over the phone have the right to cancel within 14 days of placing the order without giving a reason.

If you specifically ask us to begin work within the 14-day cancellation period (for example an urgent same-day repair) and later cancel, you must pay a proportionate amount for any work already carried out and any materials already supplied. This right does not apply to genuine emergency callouts made to protect life or property, where you expressly waive the cooling-off period. To cancel please email info@leonelectricians.com.

5. Payment

Payment for domestic work is due on completion by bank transfer, debit card or credit card unless agreed otherwise in writing. Deposits may be requested for larger installations, rewires and consumer unit upgrades. Commercial and account customers are invoiced on standard 14-day payment terms.

Late payments may incur statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, plus a fixed compensation sum, in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Ownership of any materials supplied remains with Leon Electricians Ltd until the invoice is paid in full.

6. Workmanship guarantee

We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion. Manufacturer warranties on parts and accessories (for example consumer units, RCBOs, EV chargers and light fittings) apply separately in line with each manufacturer's terms - typically 1-5 years. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to services carried out with reasonable care and skill.

The workmanship guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party alterations to our installation, water ingress, pest damage, power surges outside our control or general wear and tear.

7. Certification and compliance

All notifiable electrical work is designed, installed, inspected and tested to BS 7671 and Part P of the Building Regulations. On completion we issue the appropriate certificate in your name:

  • Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) for new circuits and consumer unit replacements.
  • Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC) for additions and alterations to existing circuits.
  • Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) for periodic inspection and testing of existing installations.

Where the work is notifiable under Part P we will notify Local Authority Building Control through our Competent Person Scheme and issue you a Building Regulations compliance certificate. Landlord EICRs are provided in the format required by the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020.

8. Cancellations and rescheduling

Booked appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or where an engineer has already been dispatched, may be subject to our minimum callout charge. Deposits paid for scheduled installations are refundable up to 48 hours before the agreed start date, less the cost of any bespoke materials already ordered.

9. Access and site conditions

The Customer is responsible for providing safe, clear and lawful access to the working area, including the consumer unit, meter cupboard, loft, cellar or any relevant circuits. You confirm you are the owner of the property or have the owner's permission for the work to be carried out. Where our engineer is unable to complete the job due to lack of access, undisclosed hazards (for example asbestos), suspected illegal wiring or an unsafe working environment, a minimum charge equal to the callout fee will apply and the work will be rescheduled.

10. Health, safety and asbestos

We work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. If suspected asbestos-containing materials are encountered, work in that area will stop immediately and you will be notified. Any additional survey, removal or encapsulation cost is the responsibility of the property owner.

11. Liability and insurance

We hold Public Liability insurance up to £5,000,000 and Professional Indemnity cover appropriate to our trade. Our total liability to you for any single claim is limited to the greater of (a) the value of the work carried out under the relevant contract and (b) the amount recoverable under our insurance in respect of that claim.

We are not liable for pre-existing defects in the installation, for consequential loss of business income, or for damage caused by third-party equipment or installations that fall outside the scope of our work. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Complaints procedure

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us at info@leonelectricians.com or call +44 20 3038 6072. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 14 days wherever possible. If we cannot reach a resolution, you may refer the complaint to our Competent Person Scheme provider (NICEIC / NAPIT), which offers an independent complaints service for consumers, or to the relevant industry ombudsman.

13. Data protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
